Moving the Indoors Outside

August 29, 2020

The Summer of 2020 pushed the indoors outside in a major way.
We have all been cooped up due to the restrictions in response to the coronavirus pandemic and being outside has never felt better. At the same time we are going out in public less so the natural solution is to improve the back deck, patio or yard.
This spring, my wife and I bought a new house and the first thing we did was stain the back deck and fence and add furniture. It is so comfortable that our dog Mojo, thinks it is another living room and he barks at us when he needs to go to his spot outside, which is a few steps away and has no barriers.
Our outdoor living room is part of a growing trend of improving the outdoor spaces of our homes. Some of the most developed outdoor areas include grilling areas with counter tops, cabinets, appliances and sinks.
While our humble “back forty feet” is not big enough for an outdoor kitchen, we do have an electric grill and a tiki bar.
Outdoor spaces are also important features to home buyers.
Please reach out if you would like to talk about your outdoors spaces and things you can do to improve them for a future sale.
